讲座提要：This talk will introduce the notion of verbal aspect as a
semantic and grammatical category and overview various realizations of this
category in the languages of the world.
主讲人简介：Vladimir Plungian is professor, doctor and a
corresponding member of Russian Academy of Sciences. He is a specialist in
linguistic typology (especially typology of grammatical categories), corpus
linguistics and poetics; he has participating in a number of field studies in
West Africa, Caucasus, Volga region, and some others. His main publications
include "General morphology" (Moscow, 2016, 5th edition) and "Introducing
grammatical semantics" (Moscow, 2011), as well as a number of articles on
modality, evidentiality, agglutination and related topics. He is currently a
deputy director of the Vinogradov Institute for Russian Language of Russian
Academy of Sciences and head of the Department of theoretical and applied
linguistics at Moscow State Lomonosov University.
